Changes to the Landfill Communities Fund announced by the Government in the 2008 Budget and effective from 1 April 2008.
Key points:
• The value of the Landfill Communities Fund for 2008-09 will be increased by £5 million to £70 million.
• The period after which EBs must submit details of income, expenditure and balances to ENTRUST or HMRC, either at the end of a relevant period or upon request, is increased from 14 days to 28 days.
• The authority to revoke the enrolment of environmental bodies has been transferred from the fund’s regulator to HMRC.
