Landfill Operators as direct funders

You might be able to find Landfill Operators (LOs) who will give landfill tax money directly to your organisation. While many LOs take part in the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), not all do. Not all LOs are potential sources of funding for your work. The only way to find out is to contact them and ask.

A list of all LOs can be obtained from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) website. LOs have to be registered with HMRC to take part in the scheme. If you plan to receive money directly from LOs, you will need to enrol your organisation as an Environmental Body (EB) with us.

In England you can find a map of landfill sites in your area by looking at the Environment Agency website.

In Wales you can find details of landfill sites from Natural Resources Wales website.

In Scotland, you may have to request details from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). The LCF scheme in Scotland closed on 31 March 2015, further information can be found on our Scotland page.

Further information is also available from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency for Landfill sites in Northern Ireland.
