Vacancy for an Enforcement Officer

We have a vacancy for an Enforcement Officer. The main focus of this role is to:

  • Ensure that ENTRUST undertakes enforcement action in accordance with the Landfill Tax Regulation 1996 (Regulations) in a proportionate and consistent manner, which complies with best regulatory practice as directed by the Policy and Regulations Manager;
  • Support ENTRUST's Quality Assurance work, by undertaking quality assurance reviews of ENTRUST in order to promote compliance with the Regulations; and
  • Provide cover across the Compliance Team by undertaking compliance reviews as and when necessary.

The post holder will report to the Policy and Regulations Manager and will be responsible for notifying Environmental Bodies (EBs) of breaches in the Regulations and taking appropriate follow up action as well as undertaking internal reviews of compliance with our own policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in an Internal Audit (IA) role and be qualified, or working towards the attainment of a recognised professional accountancy, or audit qualification.

We are seeking to recruit an individual with experience in a similar role and who is comfortable in working effectively as part of a strong team, as well as working with colleagues across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, excellent organisational and time management skills and a meticulous attention to detail with the ability to plan and prioritise workload with the minimum level of supervision.

Full details of the role can be found in the role description on the right hand side of this page. The role offers a salary of £27,000 to £30,000 dependent on knowledge and experience and 25 days annual leave, and is offered on a fixed term contract of two years initially.
