Arboretum Open Access Project

The Northmoor Trust’s Arboretum was planted in 1998 on two acres of former arable land, owned by the trust. The collection represents all of Oxfordshire’s native trees and shrubs. Now well established, we aim to open the site to the general public for recreational and educational opportunites. Visitors will be able to learn about he UK’s native species in terms of taxonomy, identification and distribution, as well as appreciate the role of trees in the face of climate change. The project will enable volunteering opportunites in practical conservation and is a key element of the trust’s developing public access policy
