Back to Basics

Fulham Palace is a truly beautiful historic site.
The ‘back to basics’ project supports historic arts and crafts within a site that is an ancient scheduled monument.
The installation of bee hives will complement the restoration of the walled garden The hives will help support the biodiversity of bees.
a purpose built composting site within the grounds will allow for the recycling of green waste and the reduction of The Fulham PalaceTrusts carbon footprint. It will close the loop on waste and add nutrients back into the soil for better crop growing. This facility can also be used as an educational tool for school children.
Native bulb planting will increase the biodiversity and food sources for wildlife species, including bees.
Bodgers –workshops showing the ancient craft of working with green wood. The outcome would be to have a shave horse and and pole lathe created and left on site for volunteer led demonstrations to continue. This would also provide an educational resource.
