Branksome Chine Surf Life Saving Club

The project is for the provision of rescue and training equipment for use by members and guests of the Branksome Chine Surf Lifesaving Club. The clubs primary aims are to promote community participation in healthy exercise and provide youths with life skills such as lifesaving and first aid. The project enables members of the community to experience the marine environment first hand in a safe controlled manner under the watchful eye of trained lifeguards. The volunteers running the club are all highly trained and younger members of the club are brought up through the ranks who then go on to help run the training sessions. This provides them with excellent early experience of management of individuals and groups as wells as developing their social and leadership skills.
