Dukes Meadow Play Space

The project will provide an exciting and challenging play space for older children of all abilities and replace an old derelict playground. The playground is in an area of West London described in a recent local Primary Care Trust report as deprived compared to the rest of the Borough of Hounslow.

The project will provide a facility for children from low income families living in local authority housing who, due to the lack of free play spaces, are deprived of opportunities to play. The provision of this play space will address the defecit in play facilities in Chiswick that has been acknowledged in the Hounslow Play Strategy. Local children contributed to creating the final design of the playground. This will help to ensure sustainability of the project by promoting local ownership.

The play space will encorporate natural elements and many new trees and shrubs will be planted.
