Green Lane Wood Complex: Enhancing Habitats for Bats

Our project will see Green Lane Wood Nature Complex enhanced for the benefit of the very rare
Bechstein’s bat, who’s populations are continuing to decline. We will restore the existing pond, create bat
roost features within the woodlands, conduct surveys to create baselines to measure the enhancement,
offer a PHD study opportunity and provide training for volunteers in conservation and identification
methods. We will seek to create lasting impact through the findings of the study and work with a
landscape consultant engaging with the local community.
