The Project will contribute to the management of Freshfield Dune Heath Nature Reserve, Formby, Merseyside, a designated SSSI and SAC.
The project will help to slow down scrub encroachment on the site by fencing compartments to allow movement of grazing animals, installation of permanent electric fencing to allow experimental grazing of rare breed native goats and creation of bare sand habitat for re- establishment of young heather and for rare invertebrates and herptiles. The project will ensure the safe movement of members of public around the site through the maintenance of fencing and installation of kissing gates and the repair and installation of three interpretation boards which will inform the public of the management of the site and what can be found here.
