Hellenge Hill Nature Recovery project

Our objective is to carry out practical works to our Hellenge Hill nature reserve – to enable conservation grazing and enance access at the site.
The works will include improved boundaries around the site (fencing and hedges), new gates, installing a water supply, habitat management such as scrub clearance and renovating two interpretation boards. The improvements will allow more flexible grazing management across the site and lead to the restoration of 22 hectares of grassland and creation of 580m of additional habitat in the form of hedges.

We will provide volunteering opportunities for regular and one-off groups that want to help with conservation tasks such as maintenance and monitoring. We will improve access to the site through new gates and updated interpretation. Overall, this project will improve resilience to wildlife to challenges such as development, intensive farming and changes in land use and climate change.
