Projects / Improved Signage in Kennington Park

Improved Signage in Kennington Park

Kennington Park, a large Grade II listed park in North Lambeth, urgently requires improved internal signage to raise local awareness of its rich heritage and cultural significance. The project proposes to commission signage to identify and celebrate many features central to the park’s rich history, such as two fountains (the Doulton and Slade Fountains), a civilian war memorial and an attractive Victorian Lodge (the prince consort’s lodge). These new signs, which will include finger posts and interpretative panels, are compatible with the park’s landscape and heritage character but also easy to use, and will positively contribute to progressive improvements being made in promoting and celebrating Kennington Park’s significant value to local communities.
