Ingrebourne Valley Project Officer

The Ingrebourne Valley Project Officer has been working in the Valley since 2008. The post was funded by the London Borough of Havering and HLF. This post has been paramount in getting the community involved in this fantastic green space and we would like this post to continue until the new visitor centre is open. The Ingrebourne Valley Project Officer has instigated a programme of events and actvities – attended by a large number of local people. It is really important to continue and expand on these events. The events will focus on promoting the the wonderful environment (the largest remaining marshland in the London area), military history of the site (former WWI and WW2 airfield), and continue to work with more local schools to make use of the classroom that was funded from HLF. The project offier will continue to ensure the recently established ‘Friends’ group becomes sustainable and will instigate and organise the installation of improved interpretation across Hornchurch Country Park.
