Little Milton – MUGA Surface Replacement

The MUGA is essentially two courts. The first is a tarmacadam surface court and is typically used as a tennis court. The second is a synthetic covered surface and is used as a football pitch. Both surfaces have multi use
and can be operated for other sports. The applicants want to replace the 2 surfaces as the tarmac has eroded (on the tennis court area) in many places and the synthetic covering (on the football area) is both tearing and its base is leeching sand. Mud regularly forms on the surface making it very slippery and unsafe to run on. As a consequence of the sand base leeching away the surface is no longer level and has numerous depressions where the mud coagulates.
Having had the existing facility since 2004 it has been heavily used and enjoyed. To lose it would appear wasteful and a great loss to the village.
Disposal of the existing synthetic surface will be carried out by the contractor in the most environmentally friendly way it can be done. Consideration has been made to ensure the manufactu
