London Living Water: East Wickham Open Space

The project will restore the ecological function of the site through carrying out habitat improvements to the site’s wetland and other habitats for the benefit of wildlife, especially amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates.
Froglife will create a new pond complex of three ponds with varying depths. The extracted soil will be used to form bunding/mounds as habitat for basking reptiles and invertebrates and will be planted with a seed mix. 150m of fencing will be replaced to stop dogs accessing the pond and a hedge will be planted to create a habitat link to the woods down the western side of the pond fence line.
