Morden Hall Park Wetlands Improvement and Boardwalk Project

Morden Hall Park is a 50 hectare (125 acre) Grade II listed Victorian park located in the London Borough of Merton, owned and managed by the National Trust since 1941. Morden Hall Park is a green oasis in the city, giving the visitor a taste of a country estate with a glimpse of its agricultural and industrial history. The River Wandle meanders through the park creating a haven for wildlife and the site sits within the 820 hectares of the Wandle Valley Regional Park. The wetlands created by the river are a rare example of this habitat in this area of London. The project at Morden Hall Park will create new boardwalks and a dipping platform to give access over the wetlands for the first time. The new boardwalk will provide inclusive access for all, and will help make better connections to the wider Wandle Trail Network – a 12 mile trail from the river Thames in Wandsworth to Croydon.
