Plas Power Wood, Wrexham – Footpath Link

Plas Power Wood has been identified as one of our top 20 sites for visitors. This diverse wood includes the largest stretch of ancient woodland in the Clywedog Valley and an abundance of wildlife and rare plants for visitors to enjoy and engage with nature. In 2012 we developed a plan to improve visitor experience even further. One of the most important identified enhancements was to significantly improve the accessibility through the development of path networks. However a 300m section of one of the longest routes, called ‘The Family Trail’, is still in desperate need of path work. We encourage visitors to walk the full distance but consultation has highlighted that some people find this muddy section too treacherous after heavy rainfall. This means that families with push chairs, elderly or those with impaired mobility and are unable to complete the full trail. We need funding to make this route accessible to all Plas Power visitors.
