Replacement fascias and soffits and external lighting, including removal & disposal of asbestos.

Charfield village hall is a 1960s building which has had little investment for over 30 years. Much of the building fabric is nearing the end of its life and in urgent need of replacement/repair. Work to date includes a new pitched roof (replacing a leaking flat roof) and timber cladding on the gable end, removal of asbestos in that section of the building and consequent new ceiling and internal re-decoration, and installation of a new water system following identification of legionella risk.

This project is part of the ongoing programme of refurbishment to bring the hall building up to modern standards and meet today’s health and safety and environmental requirements, and consists of:

– Removal of degraded asbestos, which is hazardous, & replacement of old, worn fascias and soffits.
– Replacement of broken exterior lighting to increase the safety of users during the hours of darkness, and thereby improve the external appearance of the building & the immediate environment.
