Restoration and Ecological Enhancement of the Isabella Plantation Ponds & Streams

The project aims to restore and promote the ecological value of the Plantation’s three ponds – Peg’s, Thomson’s and Still Pond, as well as enhancing the streams interlinking them. This will be done by:• De-silting the ponds.• Removal of fish stocks.• Enlarging Peg’s Pond and creating areas of reedbed using excavated silt.• Providing additional marginal planting.• Repairing pond linings and edgings.• Stream enhancements including bank alteration, pooling and planting.• Control of invasive exotic plant species. • Anti-wildfowl fencing.
