Restoration of heath and marsh at Woorgreens Lake and Crabtree Hill

To (1) Restore the aquatic habitats of this complex of lake, ponds, and ditches through a sustained rotation of clearance works to prevent dominance of typha in ponds & heavy shading of ditch networks between the features; and installation of graduated margins to ensure suitable proportion of structure from open water towards neighbouring forestry plantations. (2) Manage the well established heather stands by mechanical means in the absence of immediate grazing options. Produce a mosaic of heathland vegetation structure and age to ensure continuity for reptiles and heathland birds.
