Sand Villa Farm

The project will involve the acquisition and restoration of 82ha of strategically key intensively managed arable land along the Fylde Coast. The Trust will restore the acquired site as a wetland habitat; creating fen and grassland areas intersected by scrapes, ponds and streams adjacent to an existing internationally designated saltmarsh and marine environment (SAC) for the benefit of a wide range of wildlife species, particularly birds. Sale of Biodiversity Units generated will be used to maintain restored and created habitats over the next 35 years.
