St Peter’s Church PCC refurbishment

St Peter’s Church is a grade 2 listed place of worship situated at the top of North Hill in Colchester town centre. It is used by a regular congregation of around 50, plus around 500 people attending army and civic services and 2500 visitors and tourists. The PCC wishes to embark upon a repair and refurbishment plan in 2 phases:
Phase I – Repairs to a Kneeler Stone which is becoming loose with water washing through joints on the north east corner nave roof gable parapet and a new boiler because the current boiler is no longer useable and requires replacement before winter.
Phase II – Improved access and facilities including provision of disabled toilet, installation of a kitchen facility and improved accessibility via the High Street entrance.
Phase I work is essential and urgent. Phase II work is anticipated within 2 years.
