To upgrade the fire alarm system at The Megacentre.The existing Fire Alarm System, including Smoke Detectors and Heat Sensors, in the Centre was installed nearly 20 years ago and is no longer considered suitable for a public facility of this size and number of public access areas. The Centre is nearly 25,000 sq ft in total area and the facilities have been constantly improved and developed over the years. The existing system has very limited capability to identify the site of any problem that may occur and this can lead to very undesirable delays in ensuring public and staff safety.
The new system will be fully addressable in that the site of any problem will be instantly identifiable and appropriate action can be taken without delay. The addressable system means that each sensing device and circuit is programmable to allow full identification of its location on the control panel.
