The Midland Railway Gateway Project

Provision of improvements to aid the transfer of visitors from the Swanwick island platform to the main visitor facilities of the Midland Railway museum and country park complex. The project will (1) restore a metal footbridge by erecting new stair units and (2) provide a ground level crossing across the tracks including purpose built walkways, control gates and safe holding areas.
