Tiptree Parish Council, BTCV and Colchester Borough Council

The existing car park and track surface is made from lime based materials which are alien to the acid nature of the heath and is detrimental to the pH balance. Continued use of the car park and track is causing potholes.
The project aims:
 To clear the overgrown edges of the car park
 To break up existing lime based surface and remove the alien material from the site
 To install a secure information notice-board for regularly updated communication with the public regarding heath management, educational information and activities
 To lay a Geotextile membrane, followed by a layer of granite chippings and compress into a smooth compact surface
 To level and strengthen with granite chippings a rutted corner of the access- track leading from the north east end of the car park.
Volunteers will be supervised by the Community Liaison Officer (a CBC supported post) and will help to clear round the edges of the car park to reduce vegetation.
