Wandsworth Breathes

We want to enliven the space between Providence House Youth Club and Platform 1 Cafe, working with young people from the two projects and engaging the local community in both the design and maintenance of the space. We hope through the process to help the young people gain confidence, connect to nature and create a useful public amenity which can act as a meeting place – encouraging greater community cohesion. Platform 1 will compost their foodwaste to give compost for the space and we will grow a mixture of edible and wildlife friendly perennials, some of which will be herbs to be used in their kitchen. We will have clear labeling of all elements and hold monthly open sessions to maximise the potential as an educational resource.
