Project Detail

To provide a community garden on a scrap piece of land situated between Albemarle School and Weydown / Smithwood Close Estates. The community garden will provide a quiet area for local people to relax and enjoy. A landscape Architect has drawn up exciting plans for the community garden which will make it a quiet haven with wooden seating along the edges of edible planting. As well as a place for the community to enjoy it will serve as an area for breaks between family learning lessons and meetings held in a new Extended School Building. The southern part of this garden has been designed as an outside learning environment for young children in the creche whilst their parents are using the centre. Raised beds are provided to allow groups to plant herbs, fruit and vegetables. A rainwater chain will be used instead of a rainwater pipe.
