Carnie Woods

The project will deliver improved public access & management at Carnie Woods a site owned & managed by Aberdeen City Council through its Ranger Service but just inside Aberdeenshire. Recent housing development adjacent to site will bring additional recreational pressure to this site & it is important it has the infrastructure to cope with this additional public access. It is important that mangement work be carried out to improve the value of the woodland for public amenity & wildlife. The wood has an important red squirrel population. The project will provide x metres of surfaced footpath, picnic benches & waymarking. Woodland management work will inc brashing of trees, thinning of areas & small scale planting. Work will be carried out by contractors & volunteers under supervision of Aberdeen City Ranger services.
