Project Detail

The project is to improve the amenity of a large open space, part of which is a public park, and part of which is used as a sports field through native tree planting. The area is a large, uninteresting and featureless park of cut grass that is uninviting and therefor little used by the local community. These proposals will make the area more attractive and encourage increased use by the local community. The area has the potential to be an important greenspace in a deprived area with little other usable greenspace. The park offers the opportuity for informal recreation for the whole community. The local community through Northfield Community Council, Northfield Forum and a series of public meetings have been consulted and the response has been very supportive.
