Project Detail

The aim of the project is to provide an amenity for local people to access so they will be able to travel and experience Carrick using the following mediums. For travelling on the sea we would provide a new activity which is growing worldwide. Paddle boarding, not on offer anywhere else in Scotland at present. Girvan beach is an excellent venue in which to promote this activity. For travelling on land and the local hills we would like people to be able to do this with the appropriate foot wear so we would like to offer a selection of boots for people to use. We would also like to offer the opportunity to access the excellent bike trails within the area so we would like to purchase some mountain bikes. To make sure this happens under the highest of safety standards we would like to train up local instructors so that they can cascade their knowledge on to those within the community. Please see sheet.
