This project is in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Play Forum, Aberdeen Greenspace Bristi Airports Authority Communites Fund and the local Torry Community. It aims to upgrade six play areas within Torry. After meeting, discussion and a ‘Walk-About’, an action plan to prioritise the order and extents of upgrade to the areas was agreed. Girdleness Road - was agreed as the highest priority. Work here will involve re surfacing of the play area, up-lifting of worn tarmac, turfing and safety surfacing, in addition to installation of low-budget landscaping (e.g. tyre monster, log-surround sand play area) items of new play equipment to be purchased and installed. Community days will be held to scrub down and repaint existing play equipment litter picks and general tidy up of the area.In addition it is planned to install a total of four benches and 2 picnic tables and install 50m of path work to a play area.
