Project Detail

This follows on from a successful greenspace project in Powis. It will encourage the local community in a regeneration area to make use of the useable outdoor space on open plan. There is an active local group (Powis Residents Group) which is keen to see the open space around the Community Centre used as a social area. This will encourage the community to use the space to meet and socialise and encourage community cohesion. The tree house will promote free play among children in the local community and allow children to accompany their parents tending to planters and the edible landscape. Kick walls were introduced recently behind the shops to promote team play among the community and has proved very successful. The area has been so well used that the grass surface has been worn away. It is intended to introduce an artificial grass surface which will cope with this usage and prevent the area becoming unusable.
