Funding Policies

The Trust will consider funding category D or DA projects. All funding criteria can be downloaded from the Trust’s website.
Organisations applying for a ‘Community Grant’ must have a project located in a designated funding area which is close to a qualifying Veolia facility. Applicants can check by using the postcode checker on the Trust’s website.
The project’s total cost must not exceed £350,000. Minimum grant request considered is £10,000 (£5,000 in the Whitemoss Community Funding Area). Maximum grant request considered is £75,000.
Organisations applying for a ‘Habitat and Biodiversity Grant’ must be located within 10miles of an active landfill site. Minimum grant request considered is £10,000 (£5,000 in the Whitemoss Community Funding Area). Maximum grant request considered is £75,000, unless a registered charity or local authority.

Projects not Supported

The Trust will not consider applications from projects which do not meet the relevant scheme requirements. These are detailed within the Funding criteria section of the Trust’s website.

Application Details

To apply for a grant, applicants should first complete the eligibility checker on the Trust’s website, consider if their project meets the relevant funding criteria, then ‘Apply for Funding’. Once a Veolia Environmental Trust user Account has been set-up, the online grant application form will become available to complete. Once the form is completed and submitted, it will be reviewed by the Trust before being considered by Trustees. Funding decisions are made by the Trustees quarterly, and details of the next funding round can be found on the Trust’s website.
