The first stage of the application process is to complete an online Expression of Interest Form. The panel meets four times a year to consider Expressions of Interest. For successful projects, the average time from submitting an Expression of Interest to receiving an offer letter is 4 - 5 months. Grant applications will be considered that are within a 10 mile radius of either Hespin Wood CA6 4BJ or Flusco Pike CA11 0JB. Consideration may be given to projects that fall between 10 and 15 miles but you must contact the office as certain rules apply.

Grant applications must be for capital works and not for revenue costs. We also do not fund moveable objects. Object E projects are limited to a maximum request of £10,000 as only 10% of our annual budget is used on these projects.

Funding Policies

FCC Communities Foundation will accept applications for the provision, maintenance or improvement of the following types of public amenity.
Village Halls and Community Centres
Public Play Areas
Publicly available Multi Use Games Areas, skate parks and BMX tracks
Sport and recreation grounds, including pavilions and clubhouses with full public access
Churches, community spaces only
Nature reserves
Public gardens, parks, country parks and woodlands with at least dawn to dusk access

Projects Supported

FCC Communities Foundation will only fund projects under Object D of the LCF. It is important that FCC Communities Foundation is able to assess specific and measurable project outcomes to show how projects will make a difference. Day to day management and running costs; together with routine maintenance costs will not be funded. FCC Communities Foundation funding can be used for physical improvements to a site; ie. new windows; access improvements; refurbishment work or landscaping. Depending on the project type FCC Communities Foundation may also fund architect or design costs up to a maximum of 5% of the FCC Communities Foundation funding application. Purchase or lease of vehicles
Projects located in buildings of charities, citizen advice bureaus, statutory service providers and any other building where the primary purpose is other than the provision of a public amenity
Projects in hospital grounds, hospices, day care centres, residential homes, or sheltered accommodation
Projects located within schools or on school grounds
Projects located on allotments
Any work relating to car parks
Projects located at leisure centres, swimming pools or sports facilities that are owned and managed by a local authority
Scout halls and other uniformed group HQs where there is no evidence of wider community use
Any works to public highways, roads (either on or off project site, adopted or un-adopted) pavements beside highways, roundabouts. This does not include recreational footpaths, bridle paths or cycle ways.
Litter bins, dog bins and lampposts
Projects involving membership only organisations where the general public i.e. non-members are unable to use the facilities
Village or town centre enhancements such as walkways, street works or signage
Projects to provide or enhance overnight accommodation or residential areas of any amenity
War memorials that do not have full public access or are not located within a public park
