South Lanarkshire Living Water Project

This project will work on 7 sites in South Lanarkshire creating 2 ponds, restoring 9 ponds and reprofiling 1 pond and creating several scrapes. The sites are all in close proximity to each other, some are connected such as Langlands Moss and Calderglen Park, others are connected through drains, ditches, river banks, green spaces and countryside. The sites have been selected as they comprise a range of priority secies and habitats and although the principle target is amphibians and reptiles the project works holistically to increase general biodiversity especially aquatic invertebrates and plants. Several of the ponds have deteriorated and are very much in need of restoration work.
