To refurbish the first floor sleeping accomodation at the Group’s sailing HQ located at West Mercia. The current overnight sleeping accomodation at the Group’s HQ needs to be revised to take account of the now mixed membership. By creating internal walls, natural daylight will be blocked out. It is therefore proposed to provide daylight and ventilation for upstairs by fitting 6 new Velux windows. Electrical lights and power points will need to be included in the upstairs dormitories. The electical lighting and sockets in the older part of the ground floor area immediatley underneath the bedroom accomodation also needs replacing. A washable floor covering will be provided to cover the floorboards. To maxise the internal space to the HQ, it is planned to remove one of the two existing internal stairways and provide an external, metal, fire escape instead.
