1st Donisthorpe Scout Hut, Swadlincote – Toilets (4957/D)

There are many local community groups urgently seeking new premises since the church hall was closed in 2008 by the HSE. The refurbishment of the scout hut would enable many of these groups to have a local meeting place to conduct their activities, as well as the scouts, and could be a source of revenue to support the building’s continued maintenance and use. We have already gained a bowls club for long mat bowls on a Friday night. Local people want to hire the centre for birthdays and weddings and the old aged pensioners have had nowhere to meet for some time. The Trust grant will contribute towards the disabled toilet.
