2nd Whalley Range Scouts, Manchester- New Scout Hut (006435)

The project will demolish the existing scout facilities and replace it with a new wooden hut. This new hut would then be used for the scouts, local community groups, local charities and for private hire to local residents Currently the Scouts have two wooden huts and a concrete toilet block, the huts were acquired second hand in the 1960s and were originally built in the 1950s, they are currently in a very poor state of repair and have long out lived there intended life span. There is also have a problem with rodents and damping getting in. Both of these mean that equipment is not lasting as long as it should be. In addition, the building has no insulation so is expensive to heat.
