70th Anniversary of Seaton Parks

Seaton Park is a much loved treasure on the banks of the Don to the north of the City. The 27 hectares has formal beds, a walled garden, mature deciduous trees, open green spaces and a children’s play park.
The park will celebrate its 70th Anniversary in 2017.
The park has a very active and passionate Friends group who in partnership with Aberdeen City Council are striving for green flag status for the park in 2017.
To celebrate both the anniversary and the green flag the Friends are planning to plant 70,000 spring bulbs and 70 trees. Areas have been identified for this and Aberdeen City Council’s Environmental Services team will landscape the area in preparation for the planting. Additional seating will be added and both a decorative Cairn and a flag pole will be installed to tell people of and remember the planting undertaken to celebrate 70 years of the park and also fly the green flag.
A number of events are planned to help celebrate the anniversary, including an open day.
