8th Christchurch ‘Burton’ Scout Group, Dorset – New Scout HQ (006159)

A Scout building has been on site since 1953. In 1970 a 2nd hand wooden building was purchased from the new Severn Bridge. It is showing its age and is close to the stage where the hut will be declared unsafe, unfit for purpose and financially unsustainable. Basically it is falling apart. No amount of sticking plaster can save it.

The applicants have saved/ fundraised and have pledges of money to enable them to build a new HQ that can serve as a community asset that is fit for purpose.
