A fence to surround ‘Hill 33’ for the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust and Trail

‘Hill 33’ was commissioned in 2010. Since then its configuration has changed significantly. Although these changes were anticipated by the engineers responsible, they are more rapid and extensive than predicted. What was anticipated was a slower change; the sculpture gradually finding its ‘angle of repose’. This sudden and unexpected change to Hill 33, has caused concern over its stability and although its collapse and transformation into a revised configuration is unlikely, a recent survey by the engineers has stipulated that on the grounds of health and safety, the public need to be kept a safe distance away from the sculpture. It is the aim and intention that the proposed fence will do this.
