A Warmer Welcome to Holy Trinity Lenton

In phase I of his project, the nave, north and south aisle roofs will be stripped, roof timbers affected by dry rot repaired, and these areas re-roofed. Roof guttering will be improved and parapet gutters reformed to improve drainage of rainwater and reduce risk of future dry rot. Existing below ground drainage will be inspected, damaged drains removed and new drains set. External masonry repairs made
We are also working with a local historian to develop historical interpretation materials (leaflets and display boards) for visitors to the building, and will develop the history pages of our website. We have been successful in securing a HLF grant to cover the nave and south aisle repairs and historical interpretation activity, but we are still seeking funds for the north aisle plus essential refurbishment of the clerestory windows, required by English Heritage to provide adequate ventilation for the roof. This latter part of the project is the subject of this funding application.
