To replace the lead roof stolen from the nave and south aisle of the church with a new terne-coated stainless steel roof covering.
The substructure of the roof is sound. This project entails placing a new plywood substrate on battens over the temporary felt roof so as to provide a ventilated base, and then installing new terne-coated stainless steel sheets on top of the plywood decking, with an acoustic membrane between the plywood and the stainless steel to deaden the noise of rain falling on the roof.
A grant from Historic England will cover the cost of replacing the roof covering on the north aisle.
