ABLE2 Heckmondwike Community Access

ABLE2 is a brand new community lake and pocket park on derelict and underused former brownfield site close to Heckmondwike Town Centre, alongside the award-winning Spen Valley Greenway. The lake is now open safely excavated, lined, filled and established, complete with the building of the first public facilities on/alongside the Greenway (community room in a former rail carriage, plus standalone accessible composting toilet). The last stage is to re-open the site for full multi-user public access for all, via a network of linking footpaths and final landscaping works.
