Access and Biodiversity Improvements on Brimmond Hill

This project aims to improve access and biodiversity on Brimmond Hill.
The current project will provide new self-closing bridle gates alongside field gates to make the hill more accessible to a variety of recreational users. Paths will have encroaching vegetation (especially gorse) cut back to improve access and this will link into work the Council is looking to undertake to improve car parks and small sections of path. Waymarking and linked interpretation panels will be provided to promote the best paths which highlight areas of interest and wildlife in the area.
Habitat improvements will be undertaken to reduce the amount of gorse on the site to allow ground vegetation to flourish. the gorse will be cut and removed from site.
In selected areas, small scale tree planting will be undertaken to compliment tree planting on the neighbouring Craibstone Estate and to improve connectivity.
