Access and wildlife improvements to whithorn castle hill park

The Whithorn Evergreens, a local group, aim to enhance the park by planting trees and shrubs to improve habitats for wildlife and in the process organise and support efforts to educate and encourage local people regarding the birds, butterflies and other species with the locale.
The following actions are proposed:
– creation of footpath – approx 150m to improve access, provide structure and lead people through groups of plantings.
– seating area at a midpoint of the path
– planting of native and ornamental species of trees, shrubs and flowers which are of value to wildlife
– creation of a peat free bog garden in a particularly damp area
– a minimum of 3 educational events.
