Access Improvements To Carrs Woodland Local Nature Reserve

Carrs Woodland is a 25 hectare Local Nature Reserve located in Twerton, Bath. It has been recently designated because of its habitat; there is beech woodland, semi improved grassland and a brook and also because of its proximity to the ward of twerton thus creating important greenspace for the people living nearby. Currently access into the woodland is poor and therefore useage of the site is not as high as it could be. We propose to improve five access points by installing 2 new kissing gates, re-locating an existing kissing gate, resurfacing around an existing gate and creating steps down what is currently a muddy slope. We will also work with BTCV to clear scrub from around the entrances.
