Access to Butterflies at Stockton Cutting

The project will open up a new footpath, which will develop as a butterfly trail linking Stockton Cutting Nature Reserve to a public footpath from Stockton Village. By opening up a path through the woodland and re-exposing the blue lias subsoil, rare limestone grassland habitat will be recreated which will provide habitat for a number of rare and declining butterflies which are priorities in the Government’s UK Biodiversity Action Plan.
