Access to Nature – Brockholes

Access to Nature will create a fully accessible outdoor learning area within Brockholes Nature Reserve, where people with disabilities are able to engage with nature. The new learning space will feature accessible outdoor furniture such as; a raised fire pit with seating and space for wheelchairs, raised dipping pond, sensory beds, accessible footpaths, interpretation boards and guided walkways.
Our education team will develop a programme that aims to tackle and improve the access to nature for people with disabilities, and their families. A key part of the project is to provide opportunities and activities to promote improvement to physical health and emotional wellbeing of all those involved.
