Accessibility to Ashwood Park, Buxton – Replacement Bridges

This project will replace two bridges across the River Wye at Ashwood Park, Buxton. The first bridge will be wide enough to allow a cycleway thereby providing a link in the Buxton Boulevard and the Safe Walk & Ride Network being deleoped in the town. The second bridge will replace one currently closed due to damage and which provided the only safe exit from the middle of the park. As well as imporving accessibility and safety, replacing the bridges and railings with designs reflecting the historic and heritage background of Buxton will also improve the aethetics and attractiveness of the park.
