Accessible Driveway and Dedicated Disabled Parking, Wolverley Memorial Hall, Worcestershire

This is a project to provide an accessible driveway and dedicated disabled parking spaces at Wolverley Memorial Hall.

The project will replace the existing surface of rough ground, which is a mixture of dirt, gravel, broken tarmac and concrete with a driveway made of a permanent, permeable surface, allowing wheelchair and physically impaired access and at the same time create two dedicated disabled car parking spaces close to the hall’s disabled access doors and the entrance to the Community Café.

The project will improve safety by clearly separating the areas used by vehicles for designated disabled parking and pedestrian access, particularly for the disabled, physically impaired, and infirm.

The project will also prevent the retention of water creating puddles and water damage but also prevent surface water discharge through the use of permeable surfaces. In addition, the project will significantly improve the view of the Hall and Community Café from the entrance to the site and the view from the Community Café external area, making the facilities more attractive and welcoming.

The Village Memorial Hall is a charitably funded inclusive public facility available for use by all
local residents. The hall (now including the Community Café), is in the centre of the village and
provides a community hub with the associated playing field, playground , Bowls and Social Club and Tennis Courts all within the curtilage of the Charity’s land.
